Is it misfortune or fortune  whether the
Sparrows build their
nests (niches)  in the houses ?

There is some belief in some  people that some thing

luck will be gained  if the sparrows build the

nests  in the house, that too back side of the

photo frame  which is hanged on  the wall.

Even some film stars believe this.

Once five  and a half  decades ago,  in the

film industry one of the super stars in

Westren India had that strong belief , that a

good luck would be received that  the sparrows build

the nests backside of the photos which are hanged.

And in his case, it happend like that  and

he became a super star and he  was a handsome also.

But , in the pancha yagnas , the bhoota

yagnam is also one among them.

What is meant by the Bhoota Yaganam and

still this custom is being performed  and this tradition

has been carried over centuries together.

The  Bhoota Yaganam means, feeding the food

to the cattle, birds and other animals without

 expecting any benefit from them.

Right from  the  good olden days, early in the

morning, the people , in the villages

( now most of the villages have become

towns  and the cities) used to feed the birds,  cattle

(the cattle which were not belonging to them also)

and other fauna which were living in the villages.

Giving food to them is equivalent to do the Yagna.

What ever the  result is received  if the Yagna is done ,

the same thing can be achieved when the cattle,

birds and other animals are fed.

 They are totally  inexpressible creatures

and they can not speak.

And also in olden days people used to make

some abode (living place) to those creatures.

Arranging some dwelling places for those

animals, birds etc., would be a great charitable deed

(Punya kaaryam) what the people used to do.

Those places should not be shttered (disturbed) and moved.

Even in the temples every day morning and evening,

the priests do the Bhoota Yagnam and feed the

Naivedyam  to the birds, ants and other creatures.

So, like that the sparrows also build their nests in the

edges of the laths fixed along the roofs.
