What kind of Naivedyam  is 
offered to  the Deities ?



When we worship the God in the house and

when  we visit the Temple for worshipping ,

 the Naivedyam is offered to the God or Goddess.


The Naivedyam means the food offered to a Deity.


The Naivedyam is prepared according

to the potentiality of ours.


The Lord Sree Krishna said in the Sree Bhagavadgeeta,

“Patram, Pushpam, Phalam, Toyam etc.,

can be offered with devotion if you do not efford “. 


Those who can efford, they can offer

the Naivedyam according to their capability.


The different kinds of Naivedyam  is  offered

to the different Deities. means.



For the Brahmadeva, the Naivedyam,  Porridge is offered.


The Bhakshyas (edible preparations) are offered to the Indra Deva.

For the Deity, Agnideva, the naivedyam is Havishyannam
(Ghee and cooked rice intended for the  oblation).


The Honey, the Toddy or any wine is made

from the fruits is intended for the Detiy, Vivaswantah.


For the Lord Sree Mahavishnu, the
naivedyam is Sreshtannam ( which is superior).


The Tilaannam (cooked rice and gingili) is
offered as naivedyam to the Deity, Yamah.


For the Aswini Kumarah, the naivedyam is
Bhakshyam (edible preparations).


For the Pitrudevatas, the naivedyam is
Payasam which is made of Honey and Ghee also.


The Porridge is offered as naivedyam
to the Goddess, Sree Gowridevi.


For the Goddess, Sree Lakshmi devi,
 the naivedyam is delicious curd.


The Goddess, Saraswathidevi who is
 mother of all education, the naivedyam is Trimadhuram.


For the Deity, Varunadeva, the naivedyam
 is cooked rice which is made of sugar cane juice.


The Deity, Kubera who is king of all the wealth,
 and also for the Karma Sakshi, Surya deva,
 the naivedyam , Sarkaraannam
 (the rice  is cooked with the sugar).


For the Sages, the naivedya is Ksheeraannam.
The milk is or the snakes.

For the Surya radha (the chariot of the Sun),
the naivedyam is Sarva Bhoota Bali.
