Why  should we wash our feet completely
without any spot ( trace ) on them ?

It is said  that even for before  visiting the temple,

the feet should be washed completely

without any apperance (spot ) on them.

In the Mythologies there are many stories

which cause  so much difficulties  due to

the spot on the feet while wahing them.

In the Nala Damayanti story also as per

the Devatas’ wishes , the king Nala

faced many troubles, he got  lost wife,

his kingdom everything and went  to the forest.

And  also on  one occasion he was bitten by a snake and

transformed into a awkward dwarf called as Bahuka.

Because of once  in a hurry, he did not  wash his feet

completely and left the feet with some spot.

Then the Saturn (Saneeswarah)  who was awaiting for this

opprtunity to put him  into  so many troubles (Ashta kasthas).

And automately the King Nala had undergone hardships.

In the Mythologies, the  Goddess Sri Lakshmi’s

siter Sri Jyeshta Devi  who also like a Saturn

who make others to experience difficulties.

She is also known as Daridradevata.

Because of a small spot on the feet is left

while washing the feet, one can be

made  experience the troubles.

The evil forces  (dushta sakti) always

await to overwhelm the human bodies

in so many ways and when once the opportunity

comes naturally the evil force play a powerful role

on us in the form of sufferings and calamities.

In our olden days our elders in the families used to

say these dictums and things and make us to live happily.

Hence there is a hidden summum bonum (paramaardham)

while washing our feet , they should be washed

completely without any spots left on them.
