What are the Carriages (Vahanas) for the Deities “
In the Hindu Mythologies, the Gods, Goddess and Deities have their own Carriages (Vahanas).
The Carriage for Ganga Maata is Crocodile (Makarah in Sanskrit language)
For the River Yamuna , the carriage is Tortoise.
For the lord of the Devatas, Indra the carriage is Iravatam (pure white elephant)
The Deity, Moon’s carriage is Deer
For the God Siva (Maheswara) the carriage is Bull (Vrushabhah)
For the Sun, the carriage is Sapta Aswa Rahda ( Chariot with seven Horses)
For the Deity , the Saturn the carriage is Crow or Eagle.
For the Goddess Sree Lakshmi Devi, the carriage is an Owl.
For the Deities Rati and Manmadha ( Venus and Cupid) is carriage is Parrot
For the Brahma and Goddess Saraswati Devi, Lotus and Swan respectively
For the Goddess Parvati Devi, the carriage is Lion
For the Goddess Sree Durga Maata , the carriage is Tiger
For Hanuman ( Anjaneya Swamy), the carriage is Camel ( Vushtrah)
